Remuneration: £40,000 p.a. + (This is a fixed-rate contract)

Job description:

The role involves leading the annual PRI Reporting and Assessment process, which is based on an annual survey of signatory activities in implementing the Principles. The results of the survey are then used as the basis for the annual PRI Report on Progress. The signatory responses and examples of best practice that are identified through the process will be used as the basis for developing training resources to assist signatories in further implementing the Principles.

The job description includes:

  • Developing and further refining the signatory questionnaire, user manual and assessment process
  • Implementing, with external assistance where required, the online survey through SPSS
  • Project management of the process, including assisting signatories in completing the questionnaire and troubleshooting.
  • Extracting and analysing the results
  • Identifying best practice case studies and working with signatories to develop them
  • Conducting verification calls with signatories
  • Analysing signatories’ responses and drafting the Reporting and Assessment section of the PRI Report on Progress.
  • Developing training and learning resources for signatories
  • Organising training events, possibly in collaboration with other organisations
  • Developing e-learning modules

This is a unique opportunity for a finance or research professional to be at the heart of responsible investment, and build a strong foundation of knowledge and experience in this fast-moving area, as well as a network of contacts in the industry from all over the world. This position will provide the successful candidate with a very deep knowledge and understanding of best practice within responsible investment and the opportunity to take that knowledge and spread those practices from industry leaders to the rest of investment sectors globally.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant field (master’s preferred but not essential)
  • Five years experience in financial markets, rating or research roles
  • Experience in developing benchmarks, questionnaires or other research or rating tools
  • Ability to relate to and engage with a wide range of investment professionals from different regions
  • Ability to learn quickly and master a complex brief
  • Analytical ability and high-level numerical skills
  • Professional English writing skills
  • At least one other language relevant to financial markets is preferred
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to complete tasks and meet deadlines
  • Significant knowledge and understanding of responsible investment issues, activities and approaches (candidates without a background in responsible investment will be considered but will need to demonstrate a deep understanding of the area)
  • Good working knowledge of relevant technology (particularly Excel and SPSS)
  • Well organised and reliable; ability to work effectively without direct supervision
  • Home broadband and PC with Skype
  • Ability to work well in teams and get on with people;
  • Tact and diplomacy
  • Willing to work over multiple time zones. This is not a typical 9-5 job.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
